The Promenade Deck, or
deck A, was exclusively reserved for 1st class passengers. Several
cabins in this class were on this deck, as well as a few of the
most elegant common rooms, such as the reading room, smoke room,
the café of the veranda, and the 1st class lounge. However,
it was above all known for its promenade, which extended uninterrupted
over more than 150 meters from one end of the boat to the other.
Passengers could sit on its deckchairs or stroll along it while
admiring the sea and rubbing elbows with other passengers.
